Today my best friend and I were driving through our hometown, we came across a horrible car accident almost right after it happened. The road was closed off and they were not letting traffic through, therefore everyone had to turn around in the middle of the road and find an alternative route. I did not really think about it then because I was in a hurry, but about a hour and a half later my best friend found out that a close friend of hers died in the car accident. The girl who died in the accident was a senior in high school and 17 years old.
It makes you think about life and how fast life can come and go. It made me re-think my driving habits and will make me cherish each moment a bit more. It makes it so real when it is something so close to home.
That's so sad. I once drove by a car accident and saw someone's head covered in blood, and I think they were dead. It was horrible and traumatic, but it really does hit home more when it is someone you know and care about. I am very sorry for your friend's loss, and am glad that you got a positive message out of this awful incident.
